For this project, we were tasked with choosing a single word and study its various meanings. I chose the word gripe as I found it to be an unusual word with a strongly familiar meaning in terms of what we experience as a human in daily life. With those associations, I first created style frames that represented the word gripe at every angle possible.

I had a lot of fun finding discarded and old items to rip, tear, and piece back together.

Ultimately the final style evolved to shooting live-action using fluids and paint. The goal was to create a conceptual narrative piece that focused on the energy that gripe is associated with, but still make it organic enough to relate to our own human experiences.
